Growing Organic Food

COG is now offering the Growing Organic Food Course in British Columbia and Ontario!

What is the Growing Organic Food Course?

The Growing Food Course will take you beyond organic gardening, beyond permaculture and will help you through the entire food growing season. Grow an abundance of healthy, nutritious and delicious food, enjoy your own local, organic produce and save money on your food budget.

This practical, hands-on course is open to everyone and no prior education or gardening experience is required. Students are encouraged to grow their own garden throughout the course, using their newly learned skills and knowledge from the 5 classroom sessions and 11 practical labs and 3 self-directed blogs.

Please note, you will need weekly access to a computer and the internet for course materials.

An active email address is required for course enrolment.

Because this course is offered in partnership with Gaia College, Gaia College's Policies will apply.

Topics include: create and maintain healthy soil; analyze and optimize the growing conditions in your garden; collect, use and preserve water for optimal garden health; use holistic solutions for plant health and problems; select, plant, maintain and harvest a large variety of food plants to enjoy year-round; propagate plants, winter food storage; seed saving.

  • This course qualifies for Continuing Education Credits for CNLA, NALP, MGOI and NOFA industry certifications. Visit Gaia College's website for more details on Continuing Education Credits
