Canadian Organic Growers provides this Organic Food Directory for Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec as a community service. We encourage organic food locally grown whenever possible. This Organic Food Directory contains both certified and non-certified organic producers. Certified producers quote the name of their certifying body. Non-certified producers supply COG Ottawa with a declaration that they follow recognized organic practices. This Organic Food Directory is the most current version that we have available. Producers listed are not endorsed by COG. Retail businesses and Farmers' Markets will only be included if the majority of their products are organic. This Organic Food Directory is produced by Canadian Organic Growers Ottawa. The 2012 Organic Food Directory exists now as an online version www.cog.ca/ottawa/Organic Directory. New entries can be added to the online directory at any time throughout the year for a period of 12 months. COG Ottawa's Organic Food Directory Guidelines
1. The goal of the Organic Food Directory is to support organic farms and businesses in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec
in order to develop the region's organic food economy and to encourage sustainable food system practices.
Only organic products may be listed in the Organic Food Directory.
2. Advertisers that are certified organic and provide evidence that their certification is up to date should have
the logo of the certifier displayed beside their advertisement.
3. Advertisers that are not certified organic but have signed the Declaration of Organic Food Production may
advertise in the Organic Food Directory.
4. COG Ottawa encourages all advertisers to indicate in their advertisements the location,
hours of availability and seasonality of sales of their products.
5. The Organic Food Directory will only include Farmers' Markets and businesses where the majority of products
sold are organic.
