Greening Initiatives
A key planning focus for Feast of Fields Ottawa is minimizing our environmental footprint, throughout the event lifecycle planning. As in past years, dinnerware used for the event is recycled, gently used dishware and cutlery. Receptacles will be onsite for waste, recyclables and compostable materials
Feast of Fields Ottawa uses FSC certified recycled paper in the printing of our flyers and the event program.
We encourage you to bring and use your environmentally friendly cloth shopping bags to take home information from our sponsors and partners as well as any purchases made from local organic farmers.
OCTranspo routes 87, 111, 118 and 140, will get you to the park with the closest stop on Heron Road at Riverside. If you are taking the O-train, the park is a 10-minute walk east of Confederation Station, along Heron Road.
We also encourage you to gather your friends and carpool to the event.
Feast of Fields Ottawa is bullfrogpowered with 100% green electricity.
This means that Bullfrog Power will inject carbon-free green power onto the Ontario grid to match the amount of electricity used by this event. All of the electricity injected on our behalf will be sourced exclusively from wind and low-impact water power producers who meet or exceed the federal government's EcoLogo(M) standard for renewable energy.
