Welcome to the COG Library Catalog The resources of the library of Canadian Organic Growers are now available to the Canadian public. Books may be borrowed by mail, four items at a time for four weeks. A postage-free return label is included with each shipment. Unfortunately, the library postage rates do not apply to audio-visual resources, so borrowers will be charged shipping costs for audio tapes, CDs and DVDs. To search the catalog, use the "Search Bibliography" box above. Title search: type part or all of the title in the space to the right of "Title" then click "search." Author search: click the down arrow beside the word Title and change the selection to Author, then type part or all of the name in the space, then click "search." Subject search: click the down arrow beside the word Title and change the selection to Subject, then type a word or two in the space, then click "search." If you think a specific title should show up in a search and it doesn't (or vice versa), please email to let us know. Entire Catalog: click on "search" without typing anything in the space, and you will see the entire list of titles. To reserve items, send your request by fax, email or mail. Include your name, address, email and phone number, as well as the collection name, title and barcode number of up to four items. First-time borrowers will be asked to complete a more detailed application form as well. Email: library@cog.ca Fax: 613-236-0743 Mail: COG Library, 323 Chapel Street Suite B-1, Ottawa, ON K1N 7Z2
Since the library has grown to over 1000 titles, we are no longer providing printed catalogues. If you would like to browse by collection (a subject area such as soil, crops, pest management, farming, gardening, etc) rather than by the search facility above, please use the Collections Report.
The new online database is only possible because of the efforts of some amazing volunteers. THANK YOU to Linda Gellner, Faith Phillips, Eric Campbell and Sheri Blaylock for well over a hundred hours of data entry, converting the old paper catalog to the online database. And THANK YOU to Alex Honeywell for ongoing efforts to set up the software.
