For three generations, farming has been a family business for the Proracki family. It began when Bob’s grandfather and uncle visited this area in 1928. They liked it so much, Bob’s grandfather purchased land near Waterford and resettled here from Winnipeg. Bob and Juli have acquired a good knowledge of growing food trends and are tuned-in to the growing nutrition awareness and healthy eating patterns that have become primary concern for society. With this knowledge and a working plan, they installed a kitchen, adjacent to their sweet potato barn. They began making muffins, brownies, tarts and other yummy tasty treats that they now sell, along with their sweet potatoes, solely at Farmers’ markets throughout Southern Ontario. Bob & Juli Proracki grow sweet potatoes from organic seed stock that they import from a small farm in the Eastern USA. They grow everything without the use of herbicides or insecticides and use no waxes or fungicides in the washing and packaging of their products.
